Bio

As Executive Director of External Relations, Randy is helping to extend the college’s position as a communication industry thought leader.   His role includes directing the college’s communications strategy, raising the visibility of the college among potential industry partners, identifying new business opportunities, collaborating with other organizations inside and outside the University and fostering a more entrepreneurial mindset at the college.

He has been working in digital media for more than 30 years.  He was part of the team at Knight Ridder Inc. that developed the first graphics-base, interactive online service in the U.S. and was part of the start-up team at AOL.   More recently, he worked for the Newspaper Association of America helping to drive innovation and expose newspapers to new business opportunities.
