Administrative Support
Before the start of the fall semester, we offer a full orientation session to new adjunct instructors to present current initiatives, orient faculty to technology resources and list the services available to instructors and their students. Dates for the orientation are announced to divisions and chairs, sent by email to all faculty, and included in the college’s web calendar.
Your department administrative assistant will be your first point of contact for support. The assistants are:
- ADV: Lyndsey Harris
- JOU: Cally House
- PUR: Isabella Ryan
- TEL: Olga Tripp
Department Chairs will inform adjuncts of teaching assignments no later than one month before a term begins to ensure predictability of assignments.

Gator1 Card
The Gator1 Card is your identification and security access card for the University. The Department administrative assistant can help you obtain a card. Here are the steps:
- Departmental assistant sends the HR Manager the new hire’s name, date of birth, address, phone number and email. The manager gives the new hire a UFID and authorizes Gator1 services to issue a UFID if needed.
- You can use your newly assigned UFID to create a GatorLink account at this address: http://identity.it.ufl.edu/process/gatorlink/create-account/ and can call 352-392-4357 for tech support.
- Once you have a GatorLink, the Department can send a TAG (IT) request to get a jou.ufl.edu email set up.
- To pick up your Gator1 card, go to Gator1 Central located in Reitz Union in the Welcome Center next to the bookstore.
Parking
To park on campus, you must obtain a parking decal (costs vary).
Text Books
Adjunct faculty can contact publishers directly to get a desk copy of a text book they are interested in.
- Go to the UF Textbook Adoption site and click on Manage Your Adoptions.
- For help with textbook ordering, contact your Department administrative assistant or send an e-mail to: TextAdoption-WebHelp@bsd.ufl.edu.
- To see what textbooks other faculty are using, you can view their syllabi here.
