Five UFCJC Alums Selected for 2024 “40 Gators Under 40” Awards
Five University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) alumni were selected for UF Alumni Association’s 2024 “40 Gators Under 40” Awards. The awards recognize young alumni whose achievements positively reflect UF.
The 2024 honorees include:
- Ashley Andrews, B.S. Journalism 2007, is vice president and group creative director for global advertising agency R/GA in Atlanta
- Brian Aungst, Jr., B.S. Telecommunication 2005, is an attorney and shareholder of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen in Clearwater, Florida
- Sarah Criser Elwell, B.S. Public Relations 2009, is chief executive officer at the Forum of the Palm Beaches in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
- Luanne Dietz, B.S. Telecommunication 2007, is executive creative director and founder of Roundbox Productions in Nashville, Tennessee
- Gordon Van Owen, B.S. Journalism 2006, is a lead teacher for the New York City Department of Education in New York City
Criteria for the award include being an alumnus of the University in good standing, under the age of 40 by April of that year, making a significant impact on their industry, and having professional and/or civic accomplishments.
The “40 Gators Under 40” Class of 2024 will be recognized on the UF campus on March 28-29.
