Kristin Moorehead Joins UFCJC Innovation News Center as Multimedia Content Producer
Kristin Moorehead, B.S. Telecommunication 2021, M.A.M.C. 2022, has joined the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Innovation News Center (INC) as multimedia content producer.
Moorehead, a St. Petersburg, Florida, native, worked at WUFT-FM when she was a student. She served as a reporter, podcast producer and local “Morning Edition” anchor for nearly three years. She received recognition for her reporting from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists, the Radio Television Digital News Association and the Public Media Journalists Association.
Moorehead helped WUFT launch two nationally award-winning podcasts, “The Point” and “The Rewind.” In the summer of 2021, she interned with WLRN, Miami’s NPR affiliate, and was one of the first reporters on the scene of the Surfside condominium collapse.
In fall 2022, Moorehead returned to the INC on a temporary basis as a digital producer and helped oversee its morning newsletter production, social media strategy and analytics monitoring, while continuing to report for WUFT’s website and radio station. In her role as multimedia content producer, she will assist students in identifying story ideas and analytic trends and help with the station’s website transition to NPR’s content management system.
