Fisher is leading the qualitative analysis of interview transcripts with patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes about their disease management experiences with a focus on provider-patient interaction, the impact of disease severity perspectives, turning points in patients’ disease management, challenges associated with transitioning to retirement, and family communication that impacts patients’ disease management behavior.
