Alumnus Victoria Rossman joined the Sports Capstone class on November 18th, 2024.

Gator Game Day LSU & Florida

Former Gator and now a Sports Writer and Reporter for ESPN, Andrea Adelson, joined our Sports Capstone class on November 4, 2024, to discuss her time at UF and the CJC. Growing up, Andrea loved watching football with her dad and knew she wanted to get into sports writing. Her first beat covered Florida soccer at The Alligator and then covered football when Steve Spurrier was the head coach. She enjoyed learning on the job in and out of class while gaining more experience and versatility in her writing.

Former Gator and now a Producer for the PGA Tour, Garreth Gutierrez, joined our Sports Capstone class on October 28th, 2024, to discuss his time at UF and the CJC. Garreth volunteered at Gator Vision in his junior year and understood the different concepts that made games televised. He interned at Fox 5 in Atlanta and took advantage of opportunities that provided more hands-on experience like shooting an interview with MLB pitcher Zack Wheeler and covering SEC Media Day in Tim Tebow’s senior year.

Gator Game Day returns to the CJC on October 19th for another live show before the Florida Gators take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Our team previews the matchup and offers a pre-game analysis of both teams and what to expect in tonight's game.

Both teams are 3-3 on the season. The Gators fell to ranked Tennessee in overtime last week, while the Wildcats lost to Vanderbilt at home. Florida has dominated the matchup between both programs, but Kentucky has won the last three. QB DJ Lagway will be getting his first SEC start after Graham Mertz suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the loss last week.
