CJC Center for Public Interest Communications Collaborates with International Labour Organization on a New Strategic Communications Training Course
The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Center for Public Interest Communications and the International Labour Organization (ILO) FUNDAMENTALS Branch have collaborated to produce a new strategic communications training course for ILO staff entitled “Become a More Effective Advocate for Change.”
The six-part course, designed to maximize the potential of the 2021 International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour and developed under the MAP16 project, features a practical approach with real world examples to increase participants’ ability to influence and shape the opinions and policies of partners, donors and decision makers. It will provide the tools to identify where and how lasting change can happen.
Session topics include: introduction to Public Interest Communications and six spheres of influence; back of the envelope guide to strategy; science of the story and story building guide introduction; working with policy makers and influentials and knowledge of mobilization framework; and communicating throughout the international year.
The online course will run from March 1-12.
