CJC Student Journalists Honored in 2020 Florida Society of News Editors Awards Competition
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications student journalists were recognized in the Florida Society of News Editors (FSNE) 2020 Journalism Contest Student Division. The annual competition honors the year’s best journalists and winners were announced during a virtual awards program on Aug. 13.
The winners include:
First Place – Multimedia: Tobie Perkins, Mackenzie Behm and Sam Thomas, “At the Finish Line”
First Place – Video Storytelling: Mackenzie Behm, “The Last Race”
First Place – Longform Narrative: Journalism junior Karina Elwood and Chris Day, “Alligator Hunting”
First Place – Breaking News Reporting: Melissa Hernandez, Mackenzie Behm and Chris Day, “Hurricane Hell”
First Place – Enterprise Writing: Emma Whitmer, “Small Town Salvation”
Third Place – Enterprise Writing: Tobie Perkins, “Do or Die”
