Joanna Hernandez, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism lecturer and Inclusion and Diversity director, has been re-elected treasurer on the Journalism & Women Symposium (JAWS) 2022-2023 Board of Directors.

JAWS members include working journalists, journalism educators and researchers from across the country sharing resources, support, training and information about issues that affect women in the field. Meetings are held in person and online in an atmosphere of mutual support and enthusiastic interest in one another’s differing experiences and journalistic dreams.

The organization hosts an annual Conference and Mentoring Project, a mentoring program that matches members at every stage of their careers with someone from whom they can learn, and a directory and communications network.
