Sylvia Chan-Olmsted Comments on The Digitization of German Radio
Sylvia Chan-Olmsted, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Media Production, Management, and Technology professor and Media Consumer Research director, was quoted in the German publication “Audio Trends 2022.”
According to Chan-Olmsted, “Linear radio has a future if it offers engaging content that has the elements of surprise, relevant curation, emotional connection, and unique stories/insights. Digitization is an asset to radio because it enables non-linear, on-demand access to specific audio content and relevant, contextual advertising opportunities.”
“Audio Trends 2022” is a new “compact, purely” digital publication highlighting the growth of digitization in German radio broadcasting. Since 2013, data has been collected on the development of digital radio and published as the “Audio Digitization Report.”
