Pat Ford Receives National HPRA President’s ¡BRAVO! Award
Pat Ford, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Public Relations Professional-in-Residence, is the recipient of the prestigious President’s ¡BRAVO! Award from the national Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA).
The HPRA National ¡BRAVO! Awards honor the industry’s top multicultural communicators. They provide a forum that reflects the innovative, creative, and cultural competence in Hispanic PR professional development and educational programs.
“We are proud to honor Pat Ford’s unwavering and lifelong commitment to fostering the growth of multicultural initiatives in public relations, his leadership in expanding diversity, equality and inclusion throughout our industry, and his selfless contributions to the development of our future generations,” said Sonia Diaz, president of HPRA.
Ford was a co-founder and co-chair of the Diversity Action Alliance, an organization developed to bring together the world’s top leaders in public relations and communication to achieve continuous improvement for people of color as measured by recruitment, retention, and representation in management. He currently serves on the DAA’s Advisory Council.
Ford joined UFCJC in 2017 from Burson-Marsteller, where he was worldwide vice chair and chief client officer. During his 29 years at the firm, he also served as U.S. CEO, Asia-Pacific chair, global Corporate Practice chair and U.S. Corporate Practice chair. His specialties include corporate reputation management, senior executive communications, media strategy, and issues and crisis management
Now in its eighth year, the 2022 HPRA ¡BRAVO! Awards celebrate the best corporate, agency, non-profit PR and marketing teams, and the breakthrough work they produced. Honorees for the 2022 National ¡BRAVO! Awards were chosen collectively by HPRA executive leadership and its board of directors. The honorees were selected for their pivotal work in shaping the industry and establishing progress for Hispanic and multicultural consumer segments in public relations and communications.
Ford will receive the honor at the 2022 HPRA National ¡Bravo! Awards Gala on Sept. 29 in Austin, Texas.
