University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Public Relations Professional-in-Residence Mickey Nall, M.A.M.C 1982 and Hall of Fame 2011, is the recipient of the 2022 Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Gainesville Chapter John S. Detweiler, Ed.D., APR, CPRC, Professional of the Year Award. Kimberly Norman, an Online Master’s student with a specialization in public relations, received the 2022 FPRA Rising Star Award from the FPRA Jacksonville Chapter.

The FPRA Gainesville and FPRA Jacksonville North Florida Image Awards are conducted annually and have become a standard of public relations excellence in the local region including professionals in Alachua and Duval counties.

The Professional of the Year Award is given to an individual who demonstrates the highest standards of ethics, performance and service to the public relations profession and is also designed to recognize outstanding contributions to the Gainesville Chapter. The Rising Star Award recognizes an “up-and-coming” member who has demonstrated emerging leadership traits and is actively involved in chapter activities.
