Two CJC Journalism Seniors Chosen for New York Times 2022-2023 Fellowships
Two University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism seniors have been named New York Times 2022-2023 Fellows. April Rubin and Kalia Richardson will be working at The Times Express and Culture desks, respectively.
The New York Times Fellowship is a one-year work program aimed at cultivating the next generation of journalists. Rubin and Richardson are part of the fourth Fellowship class. They were chosen from thousands of applicants representing 15 U.S. states, as well as Britain, Turkey and India. They will join fellows in the Times newsroom in June, in the New York, Washington, San Francisco and London offices.
The Fellowship represents a unique opportunity to contribute to stories for The Times. It incorporates speakers, feedback and training opportunities. The program’s goal is to benefit not only the participants and The Times, but also other newsrooms.
