Rachel Grant to Present a Virtual Lecture on Black Women Journalists
Rachel Grant, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism assistant professor, will be an instructor for the virtual “Black Women Journalists” course offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL) on Feb. 16.
Grant will discuss the contributions of Black female journalists including the first credentialed black Hollywood correspondent Fay M. Jackson; publisher, journalist and activist Daisy Bates; and Dorothy Butler Gilliam, the first African-American female reporter at The Washington Post.
OLLI at UNL is an adult learning membership-based lifelong learning program for adults age 50 and older offering non-credit courses, events, travel opportunities and lectures.
