Mary Ann Ferguson Mentioned in UF Women at Work Profile
Mary Ann Ferguson, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Public Relations professor, is mentioned in a UF Women at Work profile of UF Vice President of Human Resources Jodi Gentry, M.A.M.C Public Relations 1989.
Ferguson served as the chair of Gentry’s graduate committee and left a lasting impression on her.
“She was (and still is) brilliant, tough and confident—and she pushed me in a way that I had not been pushed before,” said Gentry. “I will always remember some feedback she gave me in one of my graduate courses: she told me to stop apologizing or making excuses for my answers. Her very direct feedback to me about that tendency has stayed with me throughout my professional life.”
According to Gentry, she admired Ferguson’s dedication to the College and UF.
“I have always been impressed with her—and I know she has touched many lives along the way, as she did mine, throughout her career,” she said.
