CJC Hall of Famer Receives Variety New Leaders Creative Leadership Award
Tony Hernandez, B.S. Telecommunication 1997 and Hall of Fame 2019, today will receive the Creative Leadership Award on behalf of Jax Media at the Variety New Leaders Event in New York City.
Jax Media, founded in 2011 by Emmy Award-winner Hernandez, Emmy-nominated producer Lilly Burns and John Skidmore, has produced shows and specials including “Broad City,” TBS’ “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” and John Mulaney’s “Kid Gorgeous.“ He won the 2015 Emmy for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for “Inside Amy Schumer.”
The annual Variety New Leaders event coincides with a presentation of profiles of the most prominent up-and-comers in the entertainment business. This year journalist Ronan Farrow, Hasan Minhaj (“The Patriot Act”), “Saturday Night Live” cast member Bowen Yang and “Project Runway” judge and former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue Elaine Welteroth will be recognized.
Jax Media has offices in New York City, Los Angeles and London. Imagine Entertainment, founded by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, acquired the company in early 2018.
