WUFT-FM Receives Two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards
WUFT-FM and WUFT.org, part of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Division of Media Properties, were awarded a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for best web site. WUFT-FM also won the News Series award for Food Deserts featuring a series of reports looking at the food desert problem in north Florida.
Murrow Awards recognize the best electronic journalism produced by radio, television and digital news organizations around the world. WUFT-FM won in the Region 13 Small Market Radio Category.
Regional winners automatically advance to the national Edward R. Murrow Awards competition, which will be judged in May. National awards, including those for network news organizations, large digital news organizations and for students, will be announced in June. The national awards are presented at the RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala in New York City on October 9.
